MARKET OVERVIEW

1. Stock Market

  • Vietnam: VN-Index saw a slight rebound and continued to be supported around the MA20 level (1,645 points). The recent pullback has not broken the recovery trend that started on November 12. If liquidity remains stable, the index may continue its upward movement.

  • US: The September jobs report showed an increase of 119,000 jobs, beating expectations, while unemployment rose to 4.4%. The market reacted cautiously, with the S&P 500 up 0.4%, reflecting mixed sentiment between optimism and concerns about economic slowdown.

2. Forex

USD/VND increased slightly as the central reference rate edged up, signaling pressure from a stronger USD. The large gap between official and free-market rates reflects high foreign currency demand. A continued rise in USD may affect capital flows into the stock market.

3. Gold (XAU/USD)

Gold is moving sideways around the 4,000–4,100 USD/oz zone. Economic risks keep gold relatively stable, but a strong USD may create downward pressure. Clear signals will form when price breaks above 4,100 or below 4,000.

4. Oil (XTI/USD)

Oil prices are slightly correcting due to concerns about slowing global demand. The current trend leans toward consolidation. US oil inventory data and upcoming OPEC+ decisions will strongly influence short-term price movements.

5. Crypto

Crypto remains in a narrow range with limited liquidity. No strong trend has formed yet, with the market mostly moving sideways in response to USD strength and US equity market conditions.
