Has the U.S. Dollar weakened after the Fed’s rate cut?

Release Time: 10:00 AM, September 19, 2025

MARKET OVERVIEW

1. Stock Market:

  • Vietnam Market: The market continued to retreat but still held above the MA(20) around 1,663 points, reflecting a cautious trend under pressure from the previous peak zone. Declining liquidity shows weakening support from cash inflows, while supply pressure is not yet significant. The market is expected to continue testing the MA(20) area in upcoming sessions. To regain balance, stronger absorption from capital inflows will be needed.

  • U.S. Market: Strong gains continued as the Fed officially cut interest rates by 0.25%—the first cut of the year—and hinted at possible further cuts in the coming months. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq hit new highs, driven by tech stocks, particularly Intel after a $5 billion partnership deal with Nvidia. However, market sentiment remains cautious amid persistent inflationary pressures and mixed signals from the labor market.

2. Forex

  • USD/JPY: Uptrend resumes, potential buy positions today, daily support: 147.500

  • GBP/USD: Downtrend, potential sell positions today, daily resistance: 1.36000

3. Gold
Gold eased slightly as the USD strengthened and after Powell’s comments following the Fed meeting. Spot gold is currently around $3,655.10/oz, slightly lower than the earlier peak of $3,707.40/oz. December futures also declined by about 0.8%. Deutsche Bank has raised its 2026 gold forecast to $4,000/oz, stating that most indicators point toward an uptrend, outweighing short-term correction risks.

4. Oil

  • XTI/USD: Uptrend, potential buy positions today, daily support: 63.00

5. Crypto
BTC rebounded after the Fed’s 25-basis-point rate cut, now trading around $117,484, up nearly 1% from previous levels. Despite initial volatility after the Fed’s decision, the overall crypto market reacted calmly, showing resilience amid shifting macroeconomic conditions.
