MARKET OVERVIEW
1. Stock Market:
- Vietnam Market: The market has recovered from the 1,200 point level, but the upward momentum remains cautious due to profit-taking pressure and portfolio restructuring. Increased liquidity indicates that investors took action as the market rose. Currently, the market is exploring to find a balance point after strong fluctuations. It is expected that if there is a correction, the market will find support around the 1,200 point level and recover within the 1,200 – 1,250 point range.
- US Market: Last week (ending April 17, 2025), the US stock market declined due to concerns about trade tensions and the economic outlook. The S&P 500 fell by 1.5%, the Dow Jones by 2.7%, and the Nasdaq by 2.6% for the week. UnitedHealth's stock fell sharply by 22.4% after a disappointing earnings report, negatively impacting the Dow Jones index.
2. Forex:
- EUR/USD: The main trend is upward, limited trading today (bank holiday).
- JPY/USD: The trend is downward, however, it has reached a strong support zone where a reversal is possible.
3. Gold:
Spot gold prices increased by 0.6%, reaching $3,346.8 per ounce at 7:00 AM today (Vietnam time).
4. Oil:
XTI/USD: The main trend is upward, the daily support zone is at 61.5. Buying opportunities may arise when the price returns to the support zone.
